Scout Programs

The Hudson Gardens & Event Center offers nature and environmental experiences for Scouts to earn their badges and graduate to the next level. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are welcome to explore Hudson Gardens on their own, with their troop, or for a project. Hudson Gardens also offers Field Trip Programs which work well for Scout groups of all ages.

Insect Investigation200x250_BeesGirls

In partial fulfillment of the Brownie Bugs Badge (Legacy: Naturalist)

Shake a tree, turn over a leaf, look under a rock, and gaze up into the sky – insects are everywhere! During this program scouts will get a close look at some of the tiniest animal residents of Hudson Gardens. Scouts will learn fascinating facts about insects and how they interact with plants. They’ll also create bug habitats and each child will have a chance to observe insects up close before releasing them back to their garden homes. The Insect Investigation program satisfies most of the requirements of the Bugs Badge.
